Little Helping Hands Baby Bank needs your help
Little Helping Hands Baby Bank is a voluntary group helping to provide essential equipment and clothing to children aged 0 to 5 across York and Selby
It is set up for families who need that extra bit of help – and now we need your help!
I decided to set up Little Helping Hands as I wanted to help my community.
I know that the past year has been incredibly hard for lots of people; jobs have been lost and unemployment is at an all-time high.
I had also recently become a new mum, and soon realised how fast they grow and I had bags of clothes and toys that were no longer needed.
I wanted to help those families who were struggling by donating what I had and soon found there was a real need for support.
That is when Little Helping Hands was born.
Through the items that are donated from the general public, we create care packages of essential baby and children supplies.
These can range from clothing to nappies, equipment to toys. Our packages are then distributed to families within the area of York and Selby who have been identified as needing that extra bit of help.
We are always in need of donations in the form of clothing (0-5 years), toiletries, and toys. All we ask is that anything you donate is in very good condition with no stains or damage.
We also have a crowdfunding page as we are in desperate need of funds to help us continue to provide our service. The money raised will be used for:
- times when we need to buy new equipment or clothing for a referral, as we simply do not have the item in our catalogue at the time it is needed.
- the daily running costs that keep us going.
