We are WorkwithYorkshire and are currently recruiting a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of our multinational client based in York. They offer and deliver global design and manufacturing of their products to connect and protect people worldwide. This role offers scope for career development, working with experienced and talented multi-discipline engineers on a variety of exciting and challenging projects, whilst tapping into your analysis and problem-solving skills.
The role is permanent, full time and working 37 hours a week. The salary on offer is just under £29,000 per year and there are a host of additional employee benefits including free onsite parking, working purely Monday to Friday, flexi-time, to name but a few.
The successful candidate should:
- Ideally have work experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment, with a relevant degree but an HNC or equivalent level qualification in a mechanical discipline will be considered, as the role is more about the person than purely the qualification.
- Have a strong understanding and experience of CAD/Software Modelling within manufacturing/electronic engineering, Java, Embedded C would be hugely beneficial.
- Be comfortable completing agreed research, design and development activities to provide a range of mechanical design engineering services and actions. Including design, construction and testing against quality, cost, safety, reliability and performance.
- Have the ability to product research, analysis and input into engineering calculations, design and testing. This may include stress testing, software modelling and optimisation and product usability to meet company and customer high standards and requirements.
- Undertake design, development, modelling and testing activities on agreed projects and products ensuring reliability, safety and quality in all client products.
