We are WorkwithYork and our client is looking to expand their casual pool of support staff, within their 24 hour supported accommodation services for single homeless people. We are looking for people willing to work a variety of out of hours shifts, our schemes accommodate and support some of York’s most vulnerable people.
The role is very rewarding and challenging, the casual pool is ideal for those who either have other commitments, but are looking for some additional income or wish to gain experience working in housing services.
Pay rates range £14.26 to £17.11 , various shifts available.
The casual pool cover shifts within our accommodation schemes in the event of sickness annual leave or training within our permanent staff team. We pay weekly using online timesheets, offer a workplace pension scheme, holiday pay, and online training given.
Duties include:
- Providing sensitive and flexible support.
- Following and contributing to individual and service care plans, risk assessments and policies.
- Assisting in maintaining social networks and participating in activities.
- Keeping accurate and timely records, respecting, and maintaining customers’ privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicating clearly and effectively with customers and consult with other professionals in emergency situations.
You will need to:
- Have experience of working with vulnerable adults.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customer and carers, and consult with other professionals in emergency situations
- Be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a larger team
- Have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Have an enhanced Children’s DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
