James Arthur and Busted will perform in York this summer.
They are the first headliners to be announced for this year’s Music Showcases at York Racecourse.
More acts will be confirmed later.
York Racecourse head of marketing James Brennan revealed the gig on Minster FM Breakfast with Ben Fry. He said:
-
Busted are a band we’ve been keen to have at York Racecourse for some time as we know the crowds will know and love the music and the party atmosphere they’ll provide after some great racing at Summer Music Saturday.
With James Arthur, everyone at the course is really excited that a Northern boy made good is set to play York. Add in the spectacle of the racing itself and we hope it will prove a summer day to savour.

Popular gigs
The Music Showcase events have become a popular part of the city’s entertainment calendar.
Last summer, Paloma Faith and Boyzone were huge hits. But Sir Tom Jones’ July gig was cancelled at the last minute after storms prevented his trip north by helicopter.
