ITV drama The Confessions of Frannie Langton — which was partly filmed at York Mansion House — is now available to view online.
The show is based on a novel of the same name by Sara Collins, and follows the story of Frannie Langton from her birth on a Jamaican plantation, to the dazzling opulence of Georgian London.
Filming took place in Yorkshire last year — with one location being the beautiful Mansion House on St Helen’s Square.
Speaking about the filming, Cllr Darryl Smalley, City of York Council’s executive member for culture, leisure and communities, said: “The Mansion House is an incredible building with a rich history and we were delighted to see it celebrated through this filming.
“York is a city with a diverse and exciting history, and seeing a story like this one being filmed here is a great example of how our history isn’t just a thing of the past, it’s part of our present too.”
All episodes of The Confessions of Frannie Langton are available to watch now on ITV’s brand new streaming service, ITVX.
York Mansion House is currently open to visitors Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30am – 4pm. For more information, visit their website here.
