‘Household items’ set on fire in North Yorkshire village
Two fire crews had to ‘ferry water’ to a deliberate blaze in a North Yorkshire village.
Tadcaster and Pontefract firefighters responded to reports of a large fire in the open off Manor Road, Beal, Selby at 5.34pm yesterday (Sunday).

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Upon arrival they found a fire measuring approximately 20m by 5m which contained household items and tree debris.
“Crews from both counties worked together using a hose reel and ferrying water to extinguish the fire.
“The cause is believed to have been deliberate.”
