Staff at St Leonard’s Hospice were “shocked and saddened” to find that one of their vans was stolen from the Hospice car park on Tadcaster Road last night.

This has been reported and is in the hands of the police.

The van is a Ford Transit, registration number YE62 OOC. If anyone has seen anything suspicious or has any information at all, please call 101 and quote the incident number: NYP11062019-0087.

All Hospice staff carry photo ID so it’s recommended that people always check this with them when having donated goods collected.

The vans are vital to the retail operations of the Hospice and they rely on them daily to collect donated items to be sold in their shops, as well as to deliver purchased items to customers.

They ahve warned that there may now be delays due to collections and deliveries as a result of the theft.
