This striking York building is up for auction – and if you have a spare million, you could buy it.
The building is 2 and 2a Lendal, and is currently home to two restaurants, Zizzi and Nola. They are unaffected by the sale and will continue trading there.
It will be auctioned on 12 July by commercial property auctioneers Acuitus.
They have placed a guide price on the freehold restaurant investment of between £1 million and £1.1 million.
The Grade II listed property was built as a congregational chapel in 1816. More recently it was home to a popular arcade, The Dome, before becoming home to the restaurants.
According to the sale documents, 2-2a Lendal has a total floor area of 6,248 sq ft on its ground, lower ground and first floor, and brings in rent of £85,000 a year.
They say: “The property, an attractive Grade II listed detached building comprises ground, lower ground and first floor accommodation.
“The property is tenanted by two separate restaurants, the larger of the two trading as Zizzi on the first, part ground and part lower ground floors. The other trading as Nola on part ground and lower ground.”
The auction will be live streamed. You can read more details on the Acuitus website.
