The locations of three extra Covid vaccination centres in York have been revealed.
We reported yesterday that Dr Mike Holmes, head of the city’s vaccination programme run by Nimbuscare, was aiming at a target of 10,000 booster jabs a day.
This was to try and meet the government ambition to ensure all eligible over-18s have received their booster by the end of the month.

Most of these vaccinations will happen at the Askham Bar hub. But three satellite vaccination centres are being added.
These will start to be opened from tomorrow, and the are located at:
- Wigginton Recreational Hall
- Burnholme Sports Centre
- University of York Sport Centre, Heslington.
They will operate from 8am to 8pm daily, and aim to deliver up to 1,500 vaccinations each per day.
However, they are by appointment only – book online at nhs.uk.
Amended at 5.48pm to take out York St John University Sports Hall as this is not yet set up
