Magical and mysterious creatures have made a home in York city centre this summer – can you find them all?
The York BID have launched a new free and family-friendly ‘York Quest’ AR (augmented reality) mobile app to tie in with their ‘Buzz About York’ summer project.
The floral scheme is focused on helping York’s bee population thrive in the city.
The trail hopes to encourage families into the city to find a series of characters who are hidden near the flower planters and bug hotels dotted around the city centre.

Once you have found a character there’s also a special interactive element to discover! Then take a photo and share it on social media with the hashtag #YorkQuest.
Carl Alsop, operations manager at the BID said, “This trail reflects our Buzz About York project where we have filled the city centre with bee-friendly flowers and pollinator fact files.
“It’s a fun and free activity to keep young people busy during the summer holidays, and they can also learn about pollinators along the way.”

This is the third trail on the York Quest App following on from successful Christmas and spring trails. The app will soon feature a year-round activity trail with a permanent cast of famous York characters to find.
The York Quest app is free to use and download, and is available now on Google Play Store or App Store.
