Grand National 2019: Best places to stay near Aintree

3 Jan, 2019 by YorkMix

It’s one of the most prominent events in the sporting calendar and by far the most glamourous horse racing event in the world, the Grand National continues to serve and excite millions of fans across the globe.

Aintree Racecourse plays host to the Grand National, and thousands of people will flock to the North West during the first week of April 2019 to soak up the atmosphere and try and get one over the bookies.

Understandably, fans and punters will travel from near and far to revel in the glory of the Grand National, and it’s not just on the big day people arrive. All week long, a steady influx of supporters descend on Liverpool and after a day’s fine dining and drinking, it’s essential to get some all-important shut eye in preparation for the main event.

Here, we take a look at some of the best places to stay near Aintree ahead of the Grand National:

The Park Hotel

If location is essential to your visit to Aintree Racecourse, then the Park Hotel is your ideal establishment. It’s situated just 1.6 miles from the world famous course and taxis and buses are fairly priced, making it easy and affordable to travel to and from.

The Park Hotel offers 62 fully refurbed rooms and all include free WI-FI, room service, free parking and a bar/dining area to name but a few. The reviews sit favourably (link tripadvisor) for the Park Hotel and guests can expect a warm and pleasant stay during their time here. Prices generally start at around the £50 mark which make this three-star hotel a perfect choice for racing fans.

Hard Days Night Hotel

One of the most popular stay-overs in the whole of Liverpool, the Hard Days Night Hotel is the world’s only Beatles-inspired hotel. The unique and bespoke rooms are truly stunning and although the hotel is 5.9 miles from Aintree, it’s a massive hit with racing and Beatles fans alike.

Prices tend to start at around £100-120 per night but the Grade II listed Central Building is very accommodating, and guests will enjoy a wide range of foods and drinks that are on offer as well. Evey room comes with free WI-FI, room service and there are even dry cleaning facilities, for those who might spill champagne on their finest whites.

Hilton Liverpool City Centre

The Hilton has been another favourable choice for racing fans attending the Grand National over the years. Based in the centre of Liverpool, the Hilton is ideally located for those who want to enjoy the local amnesties as well as the racing.

Travel links to Aintree are plentiful and the hotel itself has free WI-FI, bar and restaurant, room service and even offers a minibar. Cost wise, prices start at around £120 per night so even though it’s the most expensive out of the three, the Hilton is an ideal stopover for racing fans. And although there’s still three months to go until the greatest horse racing event on earth, check the Betfair Grand National 2019  prices now for the best ante-post odds.
