A range of children’s daytime classics, teatime cult classics and late-night thrillers will all be part of a fang-tastic weekend of movie magic at Rufforth Airfield from Friday, 30 October to Sunday 1 November.
The company have been offering a big-screen distraction across the country during lockdown and the team are now ramping things up with a twist specially for Halloween: the addition of interactive scare actors will be there to help bring the movies to life (or undead?).

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Scary Movie
The Exorcist
Saturday 31 October
Casper
Beetlejuice
Scream
IT
Sunday 1 November

Kane Ayton, operations manager, said: “Halloween is our favourite time of the year, and we’ve definitely pulled out all the stops to give the people of York a frightfully fun event.
“We’re teaming up with North East-based scare attraction Scream Factory to unleash a terrifying experience on the runway at Rufforth Airfield.
“Children will be greeted by their favourite characters during the day, adults will bump into some of their worst nightmares by evening!”
Cinema-goers can enjoy these Halloween classics from the safety and warmth of their own car – audio is transmitted via a specially assigned FM frequency direct to vehicles’ radios and the company uses some of the largest, hi-spec outdoor screens in the UK.
There will also be some super-secret special effects thrown in too – get ready for a socially distanced weekend of frightening fun!
Tickets are on sale now priced from £15 per person and can be purchased from the Daisy Dukes Drive-In Cinema website.
