North Yorkshire firefighters have been working round the clock as the heat continues to bring serious challenges.
As we reported last night, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service declared a major incident due to the number of calls they were responding to.
Here are some of the key incidents from the last 24 hours.
7.06am Birch Park, York – there’s a smell of burning and smoke has been spotted. Crews locate a wood chip hopper on fire, which they put out.
12:10pm Thorpe Green Lane, Thorpe Underwood – Boroughbridge and Knaresborough firefighters put out a fire at a shed which contained two air cylinders.
12.11pm, Keld Lane, Thorpe Bassett – Crews from Pickering, Scarborough, Malton, Tadcaster, Selby and Robin Hoods Bay responded to reports of a crop fire covering 17 acres of a 21 acre field. A combine harvester caught light sparking the blaze.
12.33pm Sherburn – Crews from Filey, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Tadcaster tackled a fire on about one acre of woodland, which had spread to a caravan and building.
12.58pm Coney Street, York – A crew from Acomb removed a dangerous roof tile from a shop roof.
2.14pm Moor Lane, Marton Cum Grafton – Crews from Boroughbridge, Tadcaster, Acomb, Knaresborough, Ripon, and Harrogate tackled a ten-acre fire in a corn field.
2.29pm Breckinborough Castle Farm Track, Breckinborough – Firefighters from Richmond, Bedale, Northallerton, Ripon, Harrogate, Leyburn, Colburn, Stokesly and Boroughbridge tackled a fire in a stubble field.

3.22pm Leavening, Malton – Crews from Malton, Pickering, Sherburn, Helmsley, Huntington, Tadcaster attended a fire to a field of standing crops.
4.41pm Middleton Quernhow – A 50m barn, a workshop, a seed drill and baler were on fire. Tadcaster, Grassington, Easingwold and Thirsk firefighters tackled the blaze.
12.24am Market Weighton Road, Barlby – Selby, York, Huntington and Acomb firefighters responded to reports of a roof fire in a derelict building.
4.49am Castle Howard Road, Malton – Firefighters gave advice at a flat that had water leaking through the ceiling from the flat above.
