With a lot of us spending the summer inside due to the ongoing pandemic, the change of the season is bringing with it new and exciting events happening in the city.
One event that’s making a welcome return is York Food Festival – albeit downsized to just a weekend this year.
Also fun for all the family is Indie York’s and iTravel’s Treasure Hunt, as part of York Walking Festival. The perfect excuse to spend some time outside with your family and support local businesses.
Live music and performance is also making a return to the city – and it’s been sorely missed! This month look forward to Strictly Live in the Park, a musical spectacular of song and dance from the Bev Jones Music Company.
Also at Rowntree Park later this month is Jukebox Divas, brought to you by York Stage performers, three nights of musical theatre fun.
See the historic side of York and walk in the footsteps of Anne Lister on a Gentleman Jack Walking Tour, or take a peek into the past with a Behind the Scenes tour of Fairfax House.
It’s never too early to start your Christmas shopping (yes that is the c-word in September) so make sure to pop in to the York Autumn Craft Fair and check out local crafters and artists.
If you’re in need of a laugh (aren’t we all), tune in to You’re ‘Avin a Laugh, an online comedy night headlined by Georgie Morrell and Richard Stott, which is fundraising for York Mind and SASH.
One thing that’s great to see is so many local events happening in the city. Local musicians, artists, venues are creating fun, innovative, and safe entertainment for the people of York. The sense of community from the city is fantastic!
