Five people – including a 15-year-old boy – have been arrested for suspected violent disorder in York.
A team of North Yorkshire Police officers executed the arrest warrants in the Osbaldwick Lane area between 8am and 1.10pm today (Tuesday, June 6).
They were detained “in connection with an ongoing violent disorder investigation in the York area,” a police spokesman said.
Three men aged 35, 28 and 18, a 52-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy, all from the York area, are being held in custody for questioning.
A number of vehicles and other items have been seized by officers as part of the investigation.
Follows car fire
The police action was in response to suspected violent disorder in the Osbaldwick and Dunnington areas at around 7.10pm on Tuesday, May 30.
During the incident a blue Land Rover Freelander was burnt out on the A166 at Dunnington.
Three men from the Durham area, aged 21, 27 and 29, were arrested nearby shortly after it was reported to the police.
They were released on conditional bail while enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
