Firefighters this evening (Wednesday) tackled a house fire north of York.
Crews were called out to the property, on York Lane, Flaxton, at 5.33pm to find it well alight.
Station Manager Tony Walker said on Twitter: “No persons are reported injured. Crews are working to contain the fire.”
Later the fire service issued an update. It said: “Six fire engines from Acomb, York, Malton, Selby and Tadcaster along with an aerial ladder platform and incident support unit attended a fire to a bedroom of a domestic property.
“All persons were out of the property on arrival of the fire service. The fire was extinguished by crews using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.”
