A nine-year-old boy got stuck in a swing in a York play park this morning.
After the boy was unable to extricate himself, and the family’s efforts also failed, they called the fire brigade.
A crew headed out at 11.40am and realised serious rescue methods were required.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used e-draulic cutting equipment to release the child uninjured and gave advice to his family.”
It is far from the first incident of its kind in the city.
Just last month a fire crew rescued a 16-year-old girl from a swing off Foxwood Lane.
And last April, firefighters used a socket set to free another teenager from a swing in West Bank Park.
