Firefighters called out after car crash in York

A car crashed on a York street last night (Saturday).

Firefighters from Acomb were called out at 10.51pm to reports of a car smoking following a single vehicle road traffic collision on Burton Stone Lane.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crews used hydraulic spreaders and small tools to make the car safe by disconnecting the battery.

“No persons were injured and the incident was left in the hands of the police.”
