Firefighters were called to a fire close to a house in York early today (Monday).
Crews from York and Acomb were called to the incident at 12.40am next to a house in Dodsworth Avenue.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire was accidental and was caused by hot embers spreading from a bin to the exterior of the house.
“The fire also spread to the electricity box and a hedge.
“The electricity was isolated by the provider and the fire was extinguished by the Fire Service using a hose reel jet.
“A thermal imaging camera and lighting equipment was also used.”
