More than 3,000 home owners and private tenants are at risk from excess cold, whilst over 12,000 are facing fuel poverty, spending more that 10% of their income on fuel.
Citizens Advice York has been funded through Guildhall, Micklegate and Clifton ward committees to provide targeted advice to help people to save on their fuel bills.

Bring your bills
Local residents are invited to bring their energy bills along and we will be able to help them find the best energy supplier to help them save money, identify if they can benefit for energy saving measures and support
Janet Thompson, CAB energy adviser, said they can offer energy saving tips and more. They may also be able to help you to access council grants for loft or cavity wall insulation.
Citizens Advice York is here to help. We can check the savings and help people switch if they decide to. On average people save £250 per year – and it’s easier than they think.
