Relatives of the woman whose body was found in the River Ouse have come forward.
Police had appealed for help to identify the woman, discovered on Friday morning (12 April).
Today a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said:

Officers investigating the identity of a woman whose body was found under Ouse Bridge in York have spoken to her next of kin.
We are not yet in a position to formally identify the woman.
A member of the public called emergency services after spotting a body under Ouse Bridge at about 7am on Friday.
Police, the fire service, an ambulance crew and York Rescue Boat were all involved in the operation to recover the body.
The woman, wearing a lilac-coloured waterproof jacket, was aged in her 70s police said.
