Forest School – mud, mayhem or much more?

Recent years have seen a rise in the popularity of Forest Schools, but what makes it so different from outdoor learning?

Join us to explore the ethos behind Forest School, how this translates into practice, and most importantly the benefits for all those involved and nature itself. This session includes a video presentation on what Forest School is all about , some top tips and ideas for implementing forest school ideas and approaches in your own home with your children – including activities and resources. This is followed by a Q&A session with our Forest School/educational practitioners.

The Friends of Rowntree Park charity run a successful Forest School in an urban city park. Our popular outdoor education programme seeks to connect young people to nature and the environment around them, to help foster and grow a love of nature and bring generations together to explore the wonders of the outdoors.

This session would appeal to parents, anyone with a love of nature and education. Also, the info shared may be useful for other social enterprises/charities/Friends groups who would like to expand their own education programme.
