Eighties chartbusters Tears For Fears are the latest headliners signed up to this summer’s music and racing programme.
The duo will headline the Friday evening of the July Music Showcase weekend.
Tears For Fears conquered the pop world with hits like Shout, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Mad World and Sowing The Seeds Of Love.
James Brennan, York Racecourse head of marketing, said:
-
To be on a sell-out tour, more than 30 years after your first album went Gold, has to be close to ruling the world.
July 26th promises to be a memorable evening with Tears For Fears.

Beyond selling 30 million albums worldwide, performing to countless sold out audiences, and winning various awards, the DNA of Tears For Fears — Roland Orzabal [vocals, guitar, keyboards] and Curt Smith [vocals, bass, keyboards] — remains embedded within three generations of artists.
Quietly casting a shadow over rock, hip-hop, electronic dance music, indie, and beyond, their music has been sampled by Kanye West, The Weekend, David Guetta, Drake, and more.
It promises to be a fun filled summer for racing and music fans with Busted previously announced for Summer Music Saturday on 29th June and James Arthur set to perform just 24 hours later on Saturday 27th July.
