A York bridge was closed this evening while emergency services dealt with an incident.
Police, ambulance, fire crews from York and Acomb and York Rescue Boat were all called out to Clifton Bridge.
YorkMix understands that a man was in distress on the bridge, and is now in safe hands.
Acomb fire station manager Tony Walker tweeted: “Fire crews from York and Acomb have just assisted the police and ambulance at an incident on the Clifton Bridge in Acomb.
“Police did an amazing job in a challenging situation. Area now clear.”
York Rescue Boat were also called in to assist.
