This was the scene after a car ploughed into a wall in Acomb today.
The pictures were taken by fire station manager for Acomb and Huntington Tony Walker after the vehicle destroyed part of a brick garage.
Firefighters were called out at 12.31pm on Tuesday (3 December) to the propery after what a North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesman described as a driver’s “mishap whilst manoeuvring out of the garage”.
Mr Walker tweeted: “No persons injured but substantial structural damage to a domestic garage. Awaiting structural engineer and responsible person.”
Crews put a cordon in place around the damage to keep people safely away from the scene.
