We all know that parking in York can be tricky, not to say expensive.
But these drivers were taking the mick. Parked diagonally across disabled bays, blocking pavements, bisecting two spaces, ignoring double yellow lines…
Frustration with bad parking in York led one couple to set up a Facebook page, Park like a twa – I mean idiot in York. These pictures are all taken from submissions to that page.
The administrators of the page, who want to remain nameless, told YorkMix they were inspired by one particular idiot driver who parked across their drive.
Friends suggested a page where poor parkers could be showcased, so they set it up.
Since then it’s just taken off. It’s even been used as a help page as there was a VW Polo in a car park slowly being flooded which got the most shares likes and comments.
There have been some really good pictures that car owners have requested should be taken down.
We have had some disputes when drivers argued against posts stating they can park their car how they want: ‘We are not parking attendants so should keep our nose out’.
At the end of the day the page is meant in a bit of fun.
