Police are trying to trace a cyclist after a fight broke out following a crash.
It happened on Thursday 22 August at around 10.48am and involved a white Citroen van and a bike ridden by a young man.
They collided on the junction of Parliament Street and Market Street, outside size? shoe store.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We have obtained CCTV of this incident and we are still trying to identify the cyclist, who we believe was involved in an altercation afterwards that led to the driver being assaulted.
“We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the van or bike prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
“If you were the cyclist, please make contact.”
