Crash on York outer ring road causes four miles of tailbacks
A crash on the York outer ring road caused major congestion this morning (Wednesday).
The collision was on the eastbound A64 near Grimston Bar – between the A1036 Tadcaster Road and A19 (Fulford Interchange).
One report says it is on the ramp leading to the A64.
Police are on scene and a lane is closed. There is a spillage that needs to be cleaned up.
By 8.40am, the Highways Agency said there were 4.2 miles of congestion between the A1237 at Copmanthorpe and the A1079 near York, adding 35 minutes to a normal journey.
