Hands & Voices, Accessible Arts & Media’s singing and signing choir, are celebrating their 20th birthday in style this December with a special cabaret show packed with original music, theatre, comedy and dance.
Funny and poignant in turns, Cabaret of Dreams explores the choir members’ hopes and dreams for the future, whilst celebrating 20 years together as the UK’s first singing and signing choir.
Cabaret of Dreams is an inclusive production, co-devised by members of the cast, most of whom are adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Hands & Voices shows are renowned for being very funny, delightfully random (you never know what’s coming next) and full of catchy numbers that’ll have you humming all the way home.
Cabaret of Dreams will also feature beautiful original choreography, co-devised by Creative Humans and members of the cast.
Smiles guaranteed
The show is a joyful celebration of the fact that we can all achieve incredible things when we work, play and celebrate together.
Accessible Arts & Media creative director Rose Kent said: “Twenty years is a real landmark for Hands & Voices.
“And we reckon the best way to celebrate the big birthday is with a show that shines a spotlight on the choir members’ diverse skills, talents and personalities.
“You can expect the trademark Hands & Voices humour and a generous sprinkling of that special Hands & Voices magic.
“Smiles and laughter are guaranteed!”
The production has been supported by Arts Council England lottery funding and by financial services firm BGL Group.
