Police are hunting for car thieves who stole a car and then set it on fire in York.
It happened early on Saturday morning (13 November). First, police received a report of a stolen Seat hatchback.
Then, at 6.21am, a Huntington fire crew was called to a car on fire at West End in Strensall.
By that time York police had located the car and used their own kit to put out the fire before it took complete hold.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Huntington responded to reports of a car on fire that had been deliberately ignited.
“The fire was out on arrival so crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.”
On Twitter, Sgt Paul Cording said that enquiries were ongoing to locate the suspects.
