Firefigthers were called out to hedge fire last night – and discovered a crashed car.
It happened at 6.44pm at Catterton Lane, Catterton, between York and Tadcaster.
A Tadcaster crew responded to reports of a hedge ablaze.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This was found to be due to a car into the hedge.
“The car’s brakes had overheated and caused fire damage to the tyres and spread to the hedge.”
They put out the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
