Updated: Air ambulances and hazardous response team sent to serious crash on A19
Emergency services are at the scene of a serious collision on the A19 in North Yorkshire.
It happened near Womersley Mill, Whitley, south of Selby.
North Yorkshire Police tweeted: “It occurred around 10am and involved a lorry and a car. Local diversions have been put in place.”
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 9.56am this morning to reports of a collision between a car and lorry on the A19, north of Askern.
“Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, two air ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response Team were dispatched to the scene and two patients were conveyed by land ambulance to hospital.”
One patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary and the other to Doncaster Royal Infirmary).
