A popular York shop will close next week after 12 years of trading.
Heaven Scent on Micklegate shuts its doors on September 30. The florist is currently holding a sale of non-fresh stock.
It has been run by Fiona Preston in its Micklegate location for 12 years.
In a message on Facebook, she said:

So it is with a mixture of emotions that I am posting this evening.
The end of September will see me hanging up my scissors and retiring from floristry. Heaven Scent has been a member of the Micklegate family for 12 years now and I have watched the street go from strength to strength.
I want to thank all my wonderful customers for their support over the years, it has been an interesting ride!
‘Stunning displays’
Customers old and new have queued up to express their disappointment at the news.
Many thanked Fiona for creating beautiful floral displays at their wedding or other event.
“So sorry to hear your news. Its been wonderful knowing you and the wonderful bouquets of flowers that you have done for us over the years,” said Deborah Moody.
Claire Mullen echoed that sentiment: “You will be missed! Thank you for all the stunning flowers over our six years here.”
And Hazel Burton said simply: “Will miss your stunning displays.”
No one is taking over the shop, and there is no news yet of a new occupant.
