Emergency services were called out after a boiler exploded in a York flat this lunchtime (Monday).
They went to the incident at 12.05pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to reports of a boiler which had exploded.
“On arrival, crews found a burst hot water pipe leaking within a ground floor flat, into a communal area.
“The leak was causing significant water and steam damage to premises. The crew used small tools to isolate the water supply and the incident was handed over to the housing association maintenance team.”
