This is the scene on a York street this afternoon (Monday).
Police have sealed off a stretch of Windsor Garth while they deal with an incident. It is close to the road’s junction with Woodford Place.
Some householders have been evacuated from their homes.

And people are not being allowed to return to their homes if they are within the cordon.
One witness reported shouting coming from one of the houses. There are reports that a man has been seen brandishing a knife.
Armed police are at the incident. And a police dogs unit has also been called in.
YorkMix understands the police are responding to the actions of one man. Police negotiators are attempting to talk to him.
Neighbours say he is in a flat on his own.
York police tweeted: “We’re currently at the scene of an ongoing incident just off Windsor Garth in Acomb.
“Please avoid the area whilst emergency services respond.”
