Another Coney Street shop has been bought by a local property company.
North Star has bought the retail building at 36 Coney Street, to add to its growing investment portfolio in the city.
There is a long-lease in place with national toy retail brand, The Entertainer.
This acquisition follows other purchases the company has made over recent months that include
- the TK Maxx shop, also on Coney Street
- the former New Look building on Parliament Street, which now houses a vintage clothing store
- and various joint ventures across York with other property businesses.
The 9,000 sq ft building was bought from an institutional investor for an undisclosed figure and to a backdrop of recent announcements about potential regeneration initiatives that will further enhance the area, including a new bridge across the River Ouse.
A spokesperson for North Star said: “York is a fantastic place and we are excited to add to our other investments in the area. Over recent months the City has shown its vibrancy and opportunity as the City Centre evolves and improves.”
