Mittel Pils from the brewery took the honour at the bi-annual International Brewing & Cider Awards 2021.
Held at the National Brewery Centre in Burton-upon-Trent, brewers and cider-makers from 24 countries received accolades at the awards.
Nine beer trophy winners were announced – including the Elvington Pils lager.
The company only brewed its first batches of Mittel Pils this summer.
Rob McCaig, Chair of Beer Judging, said: “For three days, we have seen and tasted some of the very best beers from around the world, crowning winners from all corners of the globe.
“Despite what has been probably the most challenging period in recent memory for the brewing industry, producers from around the world have presented some exceptional beers, ales and lagers.
“It has made the job of our judging panel extremely difficult because of the quality of the beers. Japan is proving itself as an evolving brewing nation producing quality products across the beer spectrum.”
Established in 2020, Elvington Brewery said today: “Currently available to try in outlets in York and Leeds (Pivni & Tapped Leeds) we continue to increase production levels so that we can showcase our skills to a larger audience.
“In November 2021 we achieved one our founding ambitions, to have recognition on the world stage.
“Not only by winning our category with Mittel Pils but also taking home the trophy for overall best keg lager, at the International Brewing awards. “
