Police have released more details about the incident which drew multiple emergency service crews to a York city centre street.
As YorkMix reported last night (Monday), police, three fire engines and at least four ambulances – including an incident response unit – were called to Toft Green early yesterday evening.
The activity centred on an apartment in the York Aparthotel on the street.
North Yorkshire Police today gave brief details about the call out.
A force spokesperson said: “Police were contacted at 5.15pm on Monday with a report of the sudden death of a woman at a property on Toft Green in York.
“There are no suspicious circumstances around the woman’s death and a file has been passed to the coroner.”
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Trust said: “We attended an incident at a private address in this area late yesterday afternoon and no further details are available.”
The 999 crews remained on the street for around two hours.
Although the road wasn’t officially cordoned off, it was effectively blocked to cars by the emergency service vehicles during the incident.
