Motorcycle Wheelie World Championship
What could be more thrilling than seeing motorbikes speeding by at 200mph? Bikes doing just that – on one wheel! Sounds amazing, and not bonkers at all. Head over to Elvington Airfield this Saturday and Sunday – more here.

Artists Garden

From roaring engines and the smell of petrol fumes, to total tranquility… The first artwork is now in place at the new Artists Garden behind York Art Gallery. Called Foundation Myths it consists of bright yellow ceramic tree trunks. Sit, contemplate, relax. Open daily.

You know those movie musicals where everyone spontaneously breaks into a dance routine as if they’d been rehearsing all their lives? Castle Howard Proms

Anything the Albert Hall can do, Castle Howard can do better, and with more fireworks… The annual proms spectacular sees guest soloist Aled Jones and soprano Janet Mooney belting out the classical hits with the English National Orchestra.
