Short film festival
Amazing films, amazing venues. That’s the Aesthetica Short Film Festival, bringing the world’s best mini-movies to our old city for six years now. There are 400 to see, from thrillers to family to music to fashion. Runs until Sunday, here’s our guide.
Early Christmas Festival
Now we’re into November, there’s no avoiding the C-word. If you have friends and family who appreciated hand-crafted art, jewellery, ceramics and more head to the Made In Yorkshire early Christmas fest marquee, on Parliament Street till Sunday. More here.
Innovative theatre company The Flanagan Collective have taken to the streets of York once more with their production of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. They will tell both Mary’s story and that of her monster at various locations around York. On till November 26, more here.
British astronaut Tim Peake has inspired a new generation of space explorers. Although his public lecture has been postponed, this space day at the University of York on Sunday has plenty to intrigue and inspire, including a chance to make launch rockets. More here.
