Firefighters called to car fire close to houses

Fire crews put out a car fire in a residential street last night (Thursday)

Crews were called out at 8.33pm to Hempbridge Road, Selby.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera, and lighting to assist with extinguishing the fire.

“The property was unaffected and no persons were injured. The cause was accidental.”
